This workshop is an introduction to grant writing and is open to first- and second-year principal investigators at Commonwealth Campuses. This workshop emphasizes the basic aspects of grant writing, including types and sources of funding, grant terminology, and characteristics of fundable proposals.

In 2020, more than 60 attendees representing more than a dozen Commonwealth Campuses were in attendance, and more than 20 concept papers were submitted for review and critique by experienced grant writers from University Park. Reviewers were selected from the interdisciplinary institutes’ faculty, with specific experience in scientific fields of research as well as grant writing experience.
